Courtney became part of our team in February 2025, serving as our birth assistant, staff birth and postpartum doula, and placenta specialist. She has been involved in birth work since 2022.

In her free time she loves making herbal medicine, crocheting, sitting in the yard with my cats, hiking, swimming in rivers, dancing and singing, and journaling.

Her experience, energy, and philosophy are magical:

"I fell in love with birth at age 15. I was in a child development class and we had a labor and delivery nurse come in and talk to us on 3 three separate occasions. Each visit was captivating. I was bitten by the birth bug and have dreamt of working in the field ever since. For years, it seemed like nothing more than a daydream, because I doubted I could make it through nursing school - and now that self-doubt feels like divine intervention. I know I was destined to end up on the holistic end of things and was never supposed to work for the hospital system. When I found out what a doula was, it was like the stars aligned. I immediately knew I would be one someday. Looking back, I realize that what I experienced in that class was a deep remembering. I don’t believe that birth work is a choice I made, but instead it is a calling woven deep within my bones.

I was born with strong maternal instincts and have always looked forward to being a mother myself someday. I have been a nanny for nine years, nurturing other people's children, and now I also get to nurture mothers as they undergo the life-changing experience that is birth. That is how I view doula work- it is the holding and nurturing of women.

I believe birth is a sacred ceremony, a right of passage, and an initiation into motherhood. Birth isn’t just about making babies, it’s also about making mothers. Birth is the ultimate psychedelic experience, it will crack you wide open and mirror to you all that you are. It will reveal to you your wounds, and will also show you your power. When we accept physiological birth and claim it as our birthright, it will transform us into the mothers we are meant to be. Birth is an opportunity to meet the most powerful, unapologetic, alive, and primal version of yourself. Peace on earth begins with birth. I believe how we choose to birth, and how our children are born matters. It is such an honor to witness women and hold space for them as they tune into the innate wisdom woven in their DNA, step into the birth portal, and do the sacred work to bring their babies earthside,

Women birthing in power and dignity will change the world."
